When a disease germ or virus enters our body for various reasons, a special type of protein called antibody is produced in the body to prevent them. The germs or toxins that enter the body and produce antibodies are called antigens. These antigens are various chemicals or proteins or polysaccharides. Antibodies are made in the body to work against various toxin antigens.
Vienna physician Landsteiner divided the blood into four groups A, B, AB and O according to the presence of antigens and antibodies in the blood. The method of dividing the blood into these four parts is called ABO method.
Immunity:
Immunity is the mechanism by which the body develops antibodies to fight off various viruses or toxins or bacteria. Any type of germ that invades the body produces a variety of chemicals that poison the body, all of which are called toxins. When toxins enter the body, a type of protein is released from the leukocytes or Lymphocyte white blood cells that alleviates the toxin. The resulting substance is called anti-toxin. Anti-Toxins are a type of immunity that is caused by toxins. In other words, in this case, the toxin is the antigen and the antidote is the antibody. The antibody binds to the antigen and makes the antigen work. Thus the formation of antibodies under the influence of antigen is called immune response.
Immunity is the body's defenses against disease-causing germs or various toxins. Such immunity is of two types namely non-specific and specific immunity.
Hydrochloric acid produced from the stomach destroys bacteria in food, destroys lysozyme bacteria in tears, destroys germs such as monocytes or neutrophils. In this case, when the object is destroyed by the immune system without prior contact with the object, it is called non-specific immunity.
Specific immunity includes cell-based immunity and humoral immunity. The predominance of T lymphocytes in the case of cell-based immunity and the predominance of B lymphocytes in the case of humoral immunity.
This type of immunity can be innate or acquired. Any type of immunity can again be both active
and inactive.
Immunity that is formed in the
organism under the influence of genes from birth and which has no specific
source is called innate immunity. Such
as antibodies that are made in the body to destroy bacteria or viruses that
enter the body.
Immunity that is acquired after
birth or artificially created is called acquired immunity. Examples of acquired immunity are the effects
of a disease on the body's immune system.
Immunity created by vaccination is an example of acquired immunity.
When a person lacks immunity, it is called immune-deficiency. For example, as a result of HIV infection, T
lymphocytes are destroyed in the body, so the patient cannot resist the
slightest infection and dies. It is an
acquired immune deficiency. On the other
hand, if the thymus gland is not present from birth, T lymphocytes are not
formed. This is a congenital immune deficiency.
Role Of Lymphocyte
white blood cells:
Lymphocyte white blood cells are
involved in the body's defense by producing antibodies, especially against
bacterial infections. Pneumonia,
whooping cough, cholera, etc., increase the number of white blood cells. The number of white blood cells is between 4000
to 11,000 per micro liter. If the number
of white blood cells increases excessively to more than 50,000 per liter, it is
called leukemia or blood cancer.
So an increase in the number of
white blood cells does not mean that there is excess antibody or excess
immunity. The normal amount of white
blood cells is 4000 to 11000 per micro liter.
How to increase
immunity power?
At
present people are afflicted with various diseases including covid-19, so
people in almost all countries of the world have to develop various regular
habits with proper balanced diet to increase their immunity. Such a balanced diet is an important step in
increasing the body's immunity. On the other hand, it is very important to
increase our immunity through various good habits.
Adequate physical activity along
with food like fish, meat, milk, eggs etc. is very important. There is a special need to eat enough
colorful vegetables and fresh fruits along with milk, eggs, fish and meat.
At present, the effect of mental
work has increased in almost all countries of the world instead of physical
work, so adequate sleep is a very important issue.
Tropical countries have a
tendency to eat extra fat foods and sugary foods. These fats and sugars damage many normal
features of the body and reduce the body's resistance, so it is necessary to eat
low sugar and low fat foods. In
this case, according to the doctor's advice, sugar or fat can be eaten in
moderation.
In metropolitan areas where the
supply of fresh vegetables and fruits fails, it is necessary to use suitable
supplementary food. It is a good
habit to drink enough water along with a balanced diet so every person
should drink at least 4 liters of water a day.
As a result of drinking enough water, oxygen and mineral salts are
transported to every cell of the body and various excretions and toxins are
excreted from the body.
Stress is extremely
detrimental to any human being so in
leisure time one has to immerse oneself through various recreational games and
some activities of one's choice. With adequate
sleep and at least 30 to 40 minutes of exercise a day, you can stay
physically fit.
At present it is very important
to eat adequate amounts of vitamin C and zinc in covid-19
conditions. According to various
experts, the reason for the high immunity in coastal countries like Japan is to
eat different marine fish and eat different seaweeds as food. Abandoning excess red meat and developing the
habit of eating fish with adequate amount of vegetables will increase the
immunity many times over.
